2009 Carlsson Aigner CK55 RS Rascasse - Auto Shows

German tuning company Carlsson Autotechnik is dropping its ultra-luxurious (and two-tone!) take on the Mercedes-Benz GL550 during the 2009 Geneva auto show. Officially called the Carlsson Aigner CK55 RS Rascasse, the SUV is a joint effort between Carlsson and luxury leather company Etienne Aigner. The two firms recently worked together on an outrageous 695-hp version of the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG sedan. That car, called the Blanchimont, stickered at nearly €464,000 (almost $600,000) in Germany.

That makes the €228,500 ($290,000) pre-tax asking price of the Rascasse a veritable bargain. Like the Blanchimont—itself named for a corner at Spa Francorchamps—the Rascasse gets its name from a famous racing bend, in this case the sharp right-hander that serves as the penultimate corner of the Monaco street circuit. (Carlsson also offers the Eau Rouge, a CL-class-based super-coupe that was released before the Blanchimont.) Only 20 examples of the CK55 RS Rascasse will be built.
